Leisure centre facilities open

BIRCHWOOD'S new Leisure and Tennis Centre is now up and running, giving residents the perfect opportunity to get fit for the New Year.

The centre, which was set up with almost £2 million of lottery cash, will be officially opened later this year, but many of the facilities are already available to the public. The gymnasium, toning tables, saunas and aerobic studio are open, as are the sports hall, showers and changing rooms.

Birchwood High School is already making full use of the sports hall and is working with Birchwood Parish Council and Warrington Borough Council to help the centre.
