THE weather again took its toll as Warrington Soccer League's fixture list was decimated by waterlogged pitches and only 13 games survived.

Of the two matches played in the Premier Division, it was doom and gloom for bottom club Winwick Utd as they crashed at home 6-1 to Eagle Sports.

This put Eagle in second spot just one point behind leaders Crosfields albeit having played more games.

Halebank's 3-2 win at Riverplate leaves them in a comfortable mid table position but sucked the home side into the relegation zone. Regular goal grabber Ian Whitfield netted both their consolation efforts.

An excellent win for Division One Moore Utd saw them overcome high flying Haydock 3-2 thanks to Sam McWilliams' late winner. Scott Taylor and Anthony Cunningham, making his first team debut, also found the target.

Bottom two Runcorn Albion and Widnes Recreation Club clashed and the outcome ended all square at 1-1.

The only game in Division Two saw basement club Spartak go down 3-1 at Irlam Steel. Andy Taylor scored for Irlam.

Strugglers Silver Birch picked up three valuable points in their Division Three encounter by overcoming Dallam 5-3.

The significant result in this division saw Rainhill Town maintain their 100 per cent record by disposing of Talos 4-3.

A shock result in Reserve Division One saw leaders Daten crash 1-0 to St. Michaels through Mark Madigan's strike.

Daten's third and fourth streams both drew. The thirds held section two leaders Whiston Cross third to a 1-1 draw. Clive Ritchie was the man on target.

The fourths shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw against Burtonwood, who were relieved to claim their first point of the season. On song for Daten were Danny Wright and Andrew Metcalfe, who scored a brace.

Partners in crime Mike McEvoy and Andy Sharkey found the net for Fearnhead but all to no avail as they crashed 3-2 at home against Golborne third.
