Crewe and Nantwich...22

Eagle...5

AFTER leading for the first hour Eagle somehow lost their way in the final quarter.

They conceded three tries to suffer a rare defeat in the Thwaites League.

Crewe took the lead with a penalty but Eagle responded with good work from their forwards at a line-out enabling Dave Unsworth to score a try.

Eagle's backs tackled tigerishly to leave them looking good value for their lead and heading for another victory but they fell badly at the end. Clutterbuck, Simmons and Edwards stood out for Eagle.

Eagle 2nds defeated Crewe 17-11 with Cunliffe, Powers and Carhill starring.

The thirds were two players short and lost 25-7 at Crewe. Best for Eagle were Linacker, Francis and Howie.
