MAY I say that once again the council did not disappoint me with its total disregard of its tenants. One week they are saying that they need umpteen million pounds to bring their housing stock up to date and that rents will have to be increased, then they are asking for ideas to spend the millions raised from the sale of 3C Waste stock.

Did they choose to this money toward providing decent housing for their tenants? Surprise, surprise, No! Sitting there in their air conditioned, centrally heated, double glazed offices they came to the decision to spend this money on further pedestrianisation of the town centre. Do they not realise that they have tenants living in cold houses with no central heating, badly fitted windows and in some cases damp?

While the money they raised would not have covered all the cost of repairs and updating it would have gone some way to offset this cost.
