IN the Warrington GUARDIAN of December 30, 1998, an e-mail from Allen Jones gave his reasons why buses do not operate over the Christmas holiday and New Year's Day. He suggested that the buses do not operate in order that the bus drivers'can spend time with their families and travel in taxis.
The reason why there are no bus services on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day is because of the lack of demand for bus services. Warrington Borough Transport operate services when people wish to travel and on the three days of the year when no services operate, the majority of people who use buses would normally be at home with their families. However, it does give our staff the opportunity of having a break and being with their families.
