Crewe Alexandra - 3 Norwich City - 2

ANY supporters leaving before the final whistle missed one of the most dramatic endings to a Crewe game for some time as a rousing fightback, including a double strike from supersub Kevin Street, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

The Crewe side saw Dave Walton back after his recent injury with Lee Unsworth on the bench. Norwich City in 7th position were hoping to complete a league double at Crewe's expense.

Only 10 minutes had elapsed when the visitors took the lead through Llewellyn but that stung Crewe into action and Norwich had to survive some dangerous attacks. From a free kick on the left Dave Walton crashed a header on to the bar and Colin Little and Mark Rivers also failed to capitalise on tempting crosses.

Having survived this pressure Norwich broke out and promptly doubled their tally, Marshall beating Kearton with a well placed effort.

Norwich held on to their lead until the 82nd minute when the drama unfolded.

Kevin Street had replaced Colin Little and Lee Unsworth came on for Jermaine Wright. Firstly Rivers supplied the cross and Street was there to finish with a superb crisp volley into the corner of the net.

Suddenly the fans came to life, urging their team on, and five minutes later Rivers brought the scores level. There was more to come after Lunt replaced Rivers and in injury time Kevin Street struck the winner.

Visiting supporters and management were stunned, but the Crewe fans went wild.

A game which had seemed out of Crewe's reach had been turned on its head. Those three points took the Alex past the 20 mark and have narrowed the gap between the teams battling it out at the bottom.
