The council seem to be in a thoroughly apathetic state with regards to motorists and parking (or lack of it).

The council has known for years about the potential death-trap of the junction of Park Avenue, Latchford and Knutsford Road.

Motorists leaving Park Avenue to cross over Knutsford Road to head south over the Black Bear Bridge have to take their lives in their hands.

Frequently there are many obstructions including wheelie bins, parked cars, vans, youths and children congregating outside "Dragon City" Chinese Takeaway making it almost impossible to obtain a clear view of Knutsford Road.

Consequently on attempting to cross over motorists face an impossible task. I would be very interested to know just how many accidents there have been at this junction over the years. I know myself in the past four months alone, of five serious crashes.

Park Avenue has become a short cut for motorists who wish to avoid the early morning traffic and bus lane.

Consequently they speed along St Mary's Street or Slater Street avoiding this long delay on entering Warrington.

At the very least there should be traffic calming along Park Avenue and the blind spot on the corner of Park Avenue and Knutsford Road should be removed.

Having said all this though, I will not hold my breath that anything will be done as the Council's attitude is that they are a law unto themselves and will not do anything they don't want to.
