THE final round of the WAA Local League was fished on the Bridgewater canal at Walton on Saturday. Leading up to the match first and second teams were split by a slender five-point lead for the Cheshire Gold over Saints. The third and fourth teams (Bob’s Lot and Black Claggers) were tied on 123 points, so fierce competition for the last prize place of third was on the cards.

THE Northern Angling Show will take place at Event City, at Manchester’s Trafford Centre, this weekend and is expected to attract 10,000 visitors eager to try out its purpose-built lakes for carp and coarse fishing. Angling seminars, rig and bait clinics and demonstrations will also feature as part of the weekend attraction.
