ALAN Hunte is in the running to make his debut for Warrington Wolves at Wilderspool against Kevin Tamati's Whitehaven Warriors on Sunday, January 24.

Supporters are also likely to get their first glimpse of some of the club's other new signings too.

The match has been arranged as a second Testimonial game for Warrington Wolves' Cumbrian stars Chris Rudd and Gary Chambers.

Unlike the Testimonial game against Cumbria in November, this will be a competitive game taken seriously.

Although it will be primarily a warm-up to the new season for Warrington's new under 21s team the club will be giving runs out to a number of their Super League squad players.

In line to make their debuts are Australian Simon Gillies, Welsh international Dean Busby and a capture from Crosfields, Jamie Stenhouse. Stand off Scott Wilson, who played the final few minutes of Warrington's final game of last season, is also being considered for a run out.

It will be a 3pm kick-off.

A fantastic finale is being lined up for the Testimonial year.

Chambers and Rudd will be presented with their cheque, from the 12 months of fund-raising, at a mixed dinner to take place at the Daresbury Park Hotel on February 5.

The night will take the form of a five-course dinner, cabaret duo Monsoon, a comedian, disco and a late bar.

Tickets are available from Testimonial secretary Bernie Lenihan at Wilderspool. He can be contacted on 634903 or write to him at The Touchdown Club, Wilderspool Stadium, Fletcher Street, Warrington, WA4 6PY. Tickets are £30 each.

The grand Testimonial raffle will be drawn at half-time at the Warrington Wolves versus St. Helens friendly fixture at Wilderspool on January 29. Tickets are still on sale.

And today, Friday, the massive auction begins for some fantastic rugby memorabilia. Would you like to own Iestyn Harris' jersey, from his last season at Warrington, signed by the then Wolves squad? Or, what about his national Welsh jersey which he has autographed?

If you would like to bid for both or either of these shirts, write down your bid for each shirt and sent it, together with your name, address and telephone number, to Bernie Lenihan at the address printed above.

The closing date for your bid is February 4. No details of other bids will be revealed at any point.
