WHILE still on the subject of greedy taxi drivers, I feel I have to tell you about this episode.
On Monday December 28, at about 2pm I arrived at Bank Quay Station and hired a taxi driver outside to take me to Orford. It was a 10 minute journey and he asked for £9. When I queried the cost he said it was a Bank Holiday the price had trebled. I am a pensioner of 72 years of age. That same morning I had hired a London cab to take me across the city from Liverpool Street Station to Euston Station in diabolical traffic conditions.
It was a 25 minute journey and yet it only cost £7. How can I describe the Warrington driver as anything other than greedy!
