WARRINGTON Wolves returned to action by beating neighbours Wigan Warriors for the second time in four weeks.
This affair was much closer as The Wire had to see off some intense periods of pressure from the visitors.
Josh Thewlis' try on the stroke of half time proved critical, giving Wolves a lead they did not relinquish despite being second-best during the first half.
Liam Marshall had scored twice for Wigan either side of Blake Austin's score.
Wolves, for whom Sitaleki Akauola was a surprise selection on the wing, sealed the win with a long-range Jake Mamo score late on.
