WARRINGTON Wolves will definitely be without Joe Philbin for Sunday's trip to Leeds Rhinos.

The prop forward failed a concussion assessment during the first half of the 21-8 victory over Wigan Warriors on Wednesday evening.

Under the head injury protocols, the trip to Headingley falls within the minimum five-day stand-down period so he will sit the game out.

The Wire will also have to check on Jason Clark, who picked up an ankle injury and went off during the second half.

There is better news on Josh Thewlis, however, with head coach Steve Price expecting him to be available for Sunday despite going off with a nasty cut to the head in the closing seconds.

"Joe was unfortunate with the head knock, so he will be unavailable for Sunday," Price said.

"JT (Thewlis) just got a knee to the side of the temple. He's been stitched up but he'll be okay.

"Jace Clark - it's too early for him. He got a bit of an ankle knock chasing a kick so we'll know more later this week."

Winger Tom Lineham was a surprise absentee from the team, with Sitaleki Akauola starting on the wing in his place.

Price revealed Lineham had been carrying an injury and is also a doubt to face th Rhinos.

"Tom has had a back injury. It flared up during the week and he couldn't get through the game tonight," he said.

"We've still got a few days to get through before Sunday, so we'll know more on him later in the week."
