A MURDERER, a neo-Nazi terrorist and a paedophile swimming instructor are among the Warrington criminals brought to justice last month.
Every month, the Warrington Guardian takes a look back at some of the court cases that have been featured in the paper in the weeks previously.
Other defendants appearing in May included a teenage killer who plotted to plant a grenade outside a family house in Orford, a pair of teenage robbers and Kerry Katona.
These are 14 criminals who were sentenced by the courts in May:

CRIME: Conspiracy to possess explosives
A convicted murderer, Jones was involved in a plot to plant a grenade outside a family home in Orford in a feud between rival gangs.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "Some person or persons could have been maimed or killed - your actions recklessly exposed others to harm, if not death."

CRIME: Possession of cocaine with intent to supply
Leach smuggled £1,680 of cocaine into Creamfields - and was one four men jailed the same week for dealing drugs at the Daresbury dance music festival.

DATE: Friday, May 3
CRIME: Receiving stolen goods, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance
Baker was stopped by armed police on Richmond Avenue in Latchford driving a stolen car - while disqualified from driving.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “You should have known better than to get behind the wheel.”
SENTENCE: 16 weeks in prison

CRIME: Failing to send a child to school
The former Atomic Kitten singer, from Padgate, failed to send one of her five children to school between April and November last year.

CRIME: Drink driving
The fitness instructor was twice over the limit when she was involved in a head-on crash - which left a nine-year-old autistic boy traumatised.

DATE: Friday, May 17
CRIME: Making and possessing indecent images of children
Clutterbuck was found with indecent images of babies as young as six months old being abused.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “Your own admissions to the police are concerning - your frank, unhealthy interest in young children is ongoing."
SENTENCE: 120 hours of unpaid work

The Neo-Nazi plotted to kill MP Rosie Cooper in a town centre pub, and bought a 19-inch gladius knife in order to do so.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "Your perverted view of history and current politics has caused you to believe it right to demonise groups simply because they are different from you."
SENTENCE: Life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years

NAME: Jacob Chantler
AGE: 27

DATE: Wednesday, May 22
CRIME: Dangerous driving and drug driving
Crashed his car into a bridge on Christmas Eve while under the influence of cocaine.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “I am giving you a chance, so please take it.”
SENTENCE: 12-month imprisonment suspended for a year

AGE: 26

DATE: Thursday, May 23
CRIME: Burglary and fraud
Stanley 'pilfered' a woman's bank account after stealing her debit card in a burglary.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: "Within two hours of stealing the card in a gross intrusion of the sanctity of her home, you had pilfered her account."
SENTENCE: 36 weeks in prison

AGE: 53

CRIME: Inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, sexual communications with a child and two counts of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “It was a campaign of a paedophile and you must face up to that fact."
SENTENCE: Three years in prison
Simon Brooks
NAME: Polina Bakumenko
AGE: 26
COURT: Liverpool Crown Court
DATE: Friday, May 24
CRIME: Affray
Bakumenko waved a 10-inch kitchen knife at police who were trying to arrest her at her home on Lotus Court in Sankey Bridges.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “Feeling intimidated does not excuse your behaviour and you caused officers to feel in danger."
SENTENCE: Two-month imprisonment suspended for a year

NAMES: Two youths who cannot be named for legal reasons
AGES: 16 and 15
COURT: Warrington Magistrates Court
DATE: Wednesday, May 30
CRIME: Robbery, assault with intent to rob, possession of an offensive weapon and theft
Two teenagers punched boys to the ground in the town centre on a bizarre rampage - stealing 50p.
WHAT THE JUDGE SAID: “We have a duty to protect the public, who are entitled to walk around busy areas without intimidation, fear and robberies."
SENTENCE: Four months in prison for the 16-year-old boy and eight months in prison for the 15-year-old
