THE latest Old Market Place unit set to be turned into an eatery has been revealed.

An application for planning permission submitted to Warrington Borough Council seeks to convert the former Boutique Hoco jewellery shop into a café, restaurant, pub, bar or takeaway.

Golden Square Shopping Centre confirms in its application that there is ‘current interest from a potential new occupier’, but the identity of this business has not been revealed.

The latest application comes as plans for the former Works store on the Fish Market to be turned into a food outlet are approved.

Pasta Shack will serve freshly prepared food and personalised meals, ready-to-go' when it moves into the unit – with the Works having moved to a new home elsewhere in Golden Square.

Warrington Borough Council granted planning permission for the move on Tuesday, February 12.

A number of units surrounding the Old Market Place have been turned into restaurants and drinking establishments in the past year.

Nando's, Rhode Island, the Barley Mow and Ask have recently been joined by Patisserie Valerie, Flanagan’s Irish bar and the Dorado Lounge.

But the unit previously occupied by Prezzo remains empty.

A consultation on the Boutique Hoco plans runs until Wednesday, March 13.
