IT should be dry this morning for those taking part in #WalkitWednesday today.

After a wet start to 'Walk to School Week', it looks like walkers won't need their brolly this morning but may need it for their journey home.

The Met Office adds temperatures will be between 11 and 12 degrees.

Lots of readers have signed up for our campaign encouraging motorists to leave their car at home on Wednesdays and walk to school or walk instead.

But if it's too far to walk the whole way, why not take inspiration from St Paul of the Cross Catholic Primary School.

Read yesterday's story about their 'Park and Stride' campaign here.

Or you could set up a walking bus like St Augustines.

#WalkitWednesday will be taking place every week in the build-up to the summer.

It's easy to sign up.

Mum Sam Bate sent in these pictures of her children Daisy, six, and Harriet, three, walking to school.

She added: "We usually use the car purely because our littlest girl Harriet is autistic.

"We find it just quicker, convenient and most of all less dangerous.

"Although the walks taking longer.. we've enjoyed pre school park runs, laughter and just some quiet quality time as a family before the busy day.

"Definitely going to start walking more now."
