WARRINGTON Wolves got back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon – but they did it the hard way.

Their recent vulnerabilities were on show again in a high-scoring affair against Huddersfield Giants, but this time they were able to hold on for a precious win.

They were always in front from the point Sam Kasiano crossed early on, but some shaky defence allowed the struggling Giants to stay in touch.

Josh Thewlis' excellent individual try and George Williams' touchdown had them in command, but Leroy Cudjoe's try cut their half-time lead to eight points.

Danny Walker's score after the break had The Wire back in a 14-point lead, but quickfire tries from Kevin Naiqama and Theo Fages cut the gap to just two points.

Matt Dufty scored to put Wire back in control and despite Tui Lolohea's breakaway effort setting up a nervy finish, the hosts were able to hold on.
