IT is now back-to-back Super League defeats for Warrington Wolves.
They were kept tryless by unbeaten league leaders St Helens, who ran out convincing winners at the Totally Wicked Stadium to extend their winning start to 2022.
Sione Mata'utia was yellow-carded for a late hit on George Williams, who followed him to the sidelines shortly afterwards for persistent offsides.
It was that period that proved critical as Jack Welsby and Tommy Makinson scored to put the hosts in control.
Makinson and Mark Percival then crossed either side of the hour mark before Jonny Lomax scored late on to complete the victory.
