WARRINGTON Wolves slipped to their first Super League defeat of the season on home soil this evening.

They did so in dismal fashion against a Catalans Dragons side, who were superb despite having several key players missing.

Josh Charnley's late brace had given them a chance of a remarkable comeback, but the French side held on for a deserved win.

After the break, Steve McNamara's men scored tries through Arthur Romano, Mitchell Pearce and Mickael Goudemand.

Matty Ashton had cancelled out Matt Whitley's opening score to send the sides in level at half time.
