CONNOR Wrench's late try allowed Warrington Wolves to snatch an opening day win against a Leeds Rhinos side that played much of the game with 12 men.

The homegrown centre burst through to secure victory for Daryl Powell's men in his first Super League game in charge.

They had trailed for much of the game against a Rhinos side who had James Bentley sent off in the early stages for a high tackle on Gareth Widdop.

Indeed, Leeds were down to 11 men for a while as Brad Dwyer was sin binned, with debutant Oli Holmes yellow-carded for Wire after the break.

Josh Charnley struck twice for Wire, with Widdop opening their account early on.

Leeds' tries came from Zane Tetevano, Matt Prior and Ash Handley.
