Warrington’s ‘pub of the year’ winners keep the recognitions rolling in after taking home a ‘community hero’s’ award from the recent Marston’s Award Ceremony.

The staff at Seven Woods in Westbrook had only just finished polishing their well-deserved crown awarded by the Warrington Guardian when they were invited to the brewery’s honourable ‘winners’ dinner’ on August 23.

The Marston pub received the ‘Q3 Community Hero’s Award’ at the event as recognition of how engaging they are within the community and the great reputation they have built up in Warrington.

Pub manager, Vicki Anders explained what an honour the award was to receive for her and fellow manager Lez, who have run the Seven Woods for nearly seven years.

She said: “It's such a fantastic award to receive. We are overwhelmed with the recognition our team has received and it shows how hard they work to maintain our vision and provide excellent service and standards to our guests.”Warrington Guardian: Seven Woods Pub staff pictureSeven Woods Pub staff picture (Image: Vicki Anders)

The Awards evening was hosted at ‘The Farmhouse’ at Mackworth in Derbyshire and saw Marston’s invite many of their brewery’s down to congratulate them on their individual achievements.

After winning ‘pub of the year’ in Warrington from Guardian readers back in May, the staff at Seven Woods have been given much praise this year for their efforts and great service to their regulars, with the pub often being described as ‘the heart of the community’.

Vicki said: “We have an eye for detail and always strive to give our guests a warm welcome. Our team are our family, and we welcome people as you would in your own home, we strive to be the best and this year has been a fantastic year for us all.”

She added: “Most importantly we are nothing without our guests and we thank them all for their continued support with everything we do.”
