FROM lockdown food hub to award-winning pub – The Seven Woods in Westbrook is at the heart of the community.
Managers Vicki and Lez Anders took over at the pumps of the popular pub on Westbrook Crescent six-and-a-half years ago and after a much-needed revamp it reopened the doors to its loyal customers.
Now those happy regulars have voted for The Seven Woods to take the Best Pub in Warrington 2022 title beating off tough competition from seven other venues around the town.
The newly crowned Pub of the Year 2022 was forced to close during the Covid-19 lockdowns but the building became a hub for food parcels, as well as cleaning and washing supplies that were distributed to vulnerable, elderly and shielding people across Warrington.
When the government gave the green light for pubs and restaurants to reopen on April 12 last year, Vicki was nine months pregnant but together with Lez she welcomed customers back inside the pub before welcoming their daughter Sienna just six days later.
The friendly atmosphere at The Seven Woods is a hit with regulars and their dedicated team provides “excellent service”, “always making you feel welcome”.
One happy visitor said: “The Seven Woods is by far the best pub as it has a great atmosphere, a great selection of food and drink, great events and great staff.”
Another said: “Well done to The Seven Woods – keep the excellent service coming!”
The Seven Woods has something for everyone – a wide selection of drinks and an extensive food menu as well as huge tv screens broadcasting all the important sporting events and a beer garden, heated patio and play area for the children.
Their regular quiz night is a date in the diary each week and they host live music acts, parties and fundraisers throughout the year.
Lez said: “We have people from all walks of life from the very young to the elderly and we’re always busy.
