EVER fancied making a cheeseboard – and making it smart?

Well, given the graze craze of late, we thought we would give it a go thanks to Laura Billington.

She is a Winwick author who has released her own book and is now launching cheeseboard classes as Graze Cheshire.

Her classes are held upstairs in Expedition, Stockton Heath and upon arrival, you are met with prosecco – no complaints.

On the table, a box awaits that supplies all your cheese-loving needs.

Different types of fruits, nuts, jars as well as crackers, salami and of course, cheeses are at the ready.

On paper it sounds straightforward, right? Pop all of your contents into a platter, nearly arranged and job done? Wrong.

If you are going for an Instagrammable, satisfying look for your food, this is the place to go.

As newcomers to the game, my colleague and I were guided through the process by Laura, the business owner.

Firstly, we chose three sets of fruits or nuts to place anywhere we wanted and set them apart by plastic cups – you can’t go wrong with some mixed nuts.

That was followed by Cheddar and Manchego cheese – the heartbeat of the process which was cut in different ways – something I wasn’t very good at but I certainly made it look smarter.

A precisely cut kiwi followed in a flower-like arrangement before crackers and salami were added on a wooden cocktail stick, to keep it nicely in place.

Add some grapes, strawberries, apricots, honey and a flower to top it off – and voila!

I think I might stick to writing, but the fun factor was there and it was satisfying to see the end product – ill leave the cheeseboard making to Laura though.

More information on further classes will be announced on https://grazecheshire.co.uk/.
