Christmas is almost upon us. As the festive spirit slowly builds in Warrington, we thought we would round up a complete list of Christmas events in Warrington this year.

WACIDOM online Christmas

A WACIDOM online concert will take place on Saturday, November 27. 

Avocet Quartet are performing and they will play works from Mendelssohn, Beethoven and some traditional Danish music called Sønderho Bridal Trilogy.

Christmas fair, Thelwall

Meet Santa in his grotto at a Christmas fair in Thelwall on Saturday, November 27.

It takes place in Thelwall Parish Hall from 2pm.

Santa will be in his grotto.

You can also enjoy refreshments, bric a bac, fancy goods, books, crafts and more.

Christmas markets, Time Square

Time Square will be hosting a classic Christmas and a modern one with a twist too.

From Saturday November 27 to Friday, December 3, the ‘Classic Christmas Market’ will showcase a selection of stalls with everything from food and drink to quality festive goodies, including handmade gifts, art, quirky products, stocking fillers and more.

And fter the success of the first vegan market earlier this year, for the closing weekend a ‘Greener Christmas Market’ comes to the square on Saturday and Sunday December 4 and 5.

The eco-friendly market will offer a sustainable alternative to your typical Christmas market.

Across the weekend traders will be showcased who make, create, or sell vegan, free-from, gluten free, ethical, sustainable, and environmentally friendly food, drink and gifts.

Christmas fair, St Barnabas Church

The Lovely Lane church is holding a Christmas fair this, Saturday November 27.

It will take place between 12-3pm, there will be a tombola, raffle, Christmas and gift stalls, handmade crafts, books and jigsaws,

Cakes, jams and refreshments will be available too.

Luminate light trail, Walton Gardens

Luminate light trail will take to Walton Gardens from November 24 – December 24, finishing just in time for Christmas.

The trail – including interactive lighting installations – will start through the courtyard in front of the riding stables and follow a clearly defined route through the gardens.

Festive train, Gulliver’s World

The festive train returns for a Christmas adventure at Gulliver’s World this winter.

The theme park will be transformed into a magical winter wonderland in the lead up to Christmas with festive rides, snowy surprises and appearances from Santa.

The journey features twinkling lights and Christmas delights. There are special stops on the journey and every child will have the chance to give Santa their Christmas wish list and choose their own gift from the Christmas shop.

Christmas craft fair, Birchwood Youth and Community Centre

Birchwood Women's Institute is holding a Christmas craft fair on Saturday, November 27 at Birchwood Youth and Community Centre between 10am to 3pm.

Admission is free.

Stalls include handmade jewellery, wooden items, Christmas decorations, cards and other hand-crafted items and willow work from Friends of Gorse Covert Mounds.

Santa's Grotto, Walton Hall

Santa’s Grotto is returning back and bigger than ever to the Walton Gardens Heritage Yard starting with the big launch on Saturday, November 27.

It’s £8 per child and includes a visit to see Santa, a present and the reindeer trail.

Christmas fair, St Barnabas Church

The Lovely Lane church will hold the fair inside on Saturday, November 27 between 12pm and 3pm.

There will be stalls focusing on Christmas, tombola, knitted gifts and other gifts.

Other events including a raffle will take place.

Christmas wreath workshop, Parr’s Bank

A 'fun and festive' Christmas wreath workshop will take place at the transformed Parr’s Bank this festive season.

In the Banking Hall where events are held, they are teaming up with florist Beth Beedham from The Priory Flower Company to host the class.

She will be hosting two workshops on Sunday, November 28 at 11am and 3pm.

Christmas at Arley Hall

From 10am to 4pm on December 2 to December 6, Arley Hall will be decorated with foliage from the gardens and sprinkling of fresh flowers.

There will also be wreath making session with Arley’s head gardener on December 3 to December 5. The sessions will take place at 10am and 2pm and pre-booking is essential.

Jonathan Moseley will be provided floral demonstrations on December 7 and December 8 at 11am and 2pm. Pre booking is essential for this event also.

December 9 will see an ‘indulgent’ champagne afternoon tea in the hall.

The hall will be decorated for Christmas with the fires lit and a pianist playing. It will take place from 12pm to 3pm and pre-booking is essential.

‘Christmas in the Square’ will be under way from December 3 - 23 with huts under the Old Market place.

As well as bratwursts, Yorkshire pudding wraps, and more sweet treats from White Lace Bakery will be able to be bought.

And Santa will be visiting too. He will be in the mall twice a day from December 18 – 23.

Peter Price gig, Parr Hall

Warrington's own guitar virtuoso Peter Price is performing his Christmas gig at Pyramid’s Studio Theatre on home turf.

He will take to the Pyramid on Friday, December 3.

“We’re going to be firing on all cylinders that night. See you there," he said.

Creative Christmas, Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation

This Christmas, Creative HUT and the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Foundation, bring you a Creative Christmas in Great Sankey.

The event will include many fun-filled Creative & STEAM activities for you and your family for free. They will be hosting a series of construction experiences with LEGO bricks and robotics workshops designed to encourage children to ‘ignite’ creativity through play.

The events take place on December 4, 11 and 18 between 10am and 3pm.

Christmas float across the town

WarringtonLions Club has revealed the itinerary for its Santa sleigh this Christmas.

The popular float will tour the town for 13 nights beginning on Saturday, December 4.

And the Lions have now revealed the designated starting points for Father Christmas on each evening, beginning with Lidl in Latchford at 4.30pm on the first date.

Afternoon Tea at Orford Community Hub

There will be a gorgeous Afternoon Tea with entertainment from singer, Gary Scot on Wednesday, December 8 2021, 12.30pm – 2.30 pm.

Christmas extravaganza, Twiss Green

The Culcheth Primary School will be hosting a fair and fireworks display on Friday, December 10.

Gates open at 6.30pm.

A Lymm tradition will make a very welcome return next month.

After being cancelled last year due to coronavirus, applications for stalls at the Lymm Dickensian 2021 event on Saturday, December 11 are now being taken.

Santa Dash, Walton Gardens

Have some festive fun and help to raise funds for Warrington Disability Partnership by booking to take part in Santa Dash on Sunday, December 12 at Walton Hall Gardens.

You can walk, push, jog, run or even cycle the 3km route, all at your own pace The entry fee is £10 which includes a five piece Santa suit to wear whilst you take part in the challenge.
