WHEN you are working from home, the last thing you want during a massive squall is a neighbour’s tree crashing through your garden and fence.
That was the harsh reality for Rebecca Wright of Orford Green on Wednesday, following the sucker punch of a storm in Warrington.
And pictures have shown the impact that it had.
“The fact that nobody is dead is a miracle,” Rebecca said.
“Twenty seconds of weather and half the world is in the back garden.

Rebecca, who has lived in Warrington for 21 years, was sitting working in the living room at the time it happened.
She added: “I heard this rain which sounded like a big splatter on the front window and then my daughter shouted from upstairs, she heard the same from her bedroom and as she has looked outside the window, the limbs of this tree just came over and crushed everything in the garden.
“The shed and gazebo are as flat as a pancake underneath it all.”
And unless Rebecca said, you wouldn’t even know that under the tree lay a 6x8ft shed, a gazebo and garden furniture.
However, she is aware that this was not the worst outcome.
“It could have been a lot worse because my girls sit out there with their friends. It was their social area throughout lockdown and they are out there all the time so it could have been so much worse,” Rebecca said.
Her contents insurance had run out and the neighbour said their liability insurance stops at the fence, so her friends and family have rallied around to support and help her.
Rebecca continued: “My friends have been amazing. There was about eight of us in the garden yesterday.
“They came and manage to sort a lot of the tree out. My garden is a mess. It’s an absolute nuisance because I’m due to have an operation in two weeks which I will have to cancel. I can’t have that while I have all of this in my garden as I’ll be on my back for 6-12 weeks if I have it done.
“It’s not the neighbour’s fault it’s just a freak of nature.”
Her friend, Mandy Glover, has set up a GoFundMe page which can be found at here.
