A REPEAT offender is back in jail after flouting a ban handed down to him from the courts.

Christopher Berry, better known as 'Dancing Chris', entered an area he was banned from whilst acting in a manner which could have caused harassment, alarm or distress to another person.

Berry, who gave an address of Garswood Old Road, St Helens, is banned from doing this by a criminal behaviour order made by Chester Crown Court in January this year.

The 65 year old appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 27, where he was sentenced to five months in prison.

It was claimed Berry’s offence was aggravated by his record of previous offending and his ‘flagrant disregard’ for court orders.

This is also not the first time that Berry has breached a court order as he has previously been described as ‘a drain on Cheshire Police’s resources’.

In November 2020, the Warrington Guardian reported that Berry had breached a court order five times in just one year.

He has also served a previous prison sentence for flouting court orders.
