POLICE were called after violence broke out in Chapelford this afternoon (Saturday).

Between 30 and 40 youths have been involved in a brawl on Boston Boulevard, near the junction with Burtonwood Road.

Officers have the names of some of those involved in the fight but are still seeking to identify others.

Police are appealing for information as enquiries continue.

A statement on Whittle Hall Police's Facebook page posted shortly before 4pm said: "We have just come across a large fight involving 30-40 youths on Boston Boulevard near to the junction of Burtonwood Road.

"We have managed to obtain some names of some of the people involved. Further enquiries are currently being made in an effort to identify others.

"If you have any information in relation to the incident please call us on 101 and quote the below.

"IML 937689."

Residents have also reported seeing a fight involving two teenage boys outside the Sainsbury's store on Santa Rosa Boulevard shortly after.
