WARRINGTON’S rate of new coronavirus cases has fallen again, the latest data from Public Health England shows.

In the week up to November 30, a total of 270 new cases were recorded in the town at a rate of 128.6 cases per 100,000 people.

The previous seven-day period up to November 23 saw 370 cases found through testing at a rate of 176.2 per 100,000 population.

The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government's testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).

Data for the most recent four days, December 1-4, has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.
