THESE are the areas of Warrington that had the highest rates of new coronavirus over the past week.

Thanks to an interactive map published on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard, we can see the number of cases by area and each area’s rate of infection.

The map is divided into ‘middle layer super output areas’, which is a system used by the Office for National Statistics that is slightly larger than a postcode area.

The data incorporated covers a seven-day period and has been sourced from Public Health England, based on pillars one and two of the Government's testing programme.

At the time of writing, the map displayed the number and rate of new cases in each area of Warrington in the seven days up to November 29.

Data for the most recent period is excluded as it is incomplete, does not reflect the true number of cases and is likely to be revised.
