WARRINGTON MUSIC FESTIVAL, MAY 4 AND 5 >

Warrington Guardian: Shaun Ryder at Warrington Music Festival

This weekend sees a two-day free music festival hit the Golden Square.

On Saturday, Shaun Ryder’s Black Grape, The Farm, Fez and Clint Boon will perform on the open air Old Fish Market stage. However all the tickets have already been snapped up.

On Sunday though you can watch the best of Warrington and north west emerging talent headlined by The Winachi Tribe - all for free.

WARRINGTON RECORD FAIR, MAY 4 >

Warrington Guardian:

WARRINGTON Record Fair returns on Saturday.

Collectors can search for hidden gems on vinyl from 10am to 5pm at Warrington Market.

The event will feature around 20 traders who specialise in a particular field of music such as soul, jazz, funk or rock.

There will be around 20,000 records, including some rarities, costing anything from £1 to hundreds of pounds.

Fans can also buy vinyl memorabilia.

CULCHETH COMMUNITY DAY MONDAY, MAY 6>

Warrington Guardian: Crowds come out for Culcheth Community Day

Free bank holiday fun is promised at Culcheth Community Day.

A sparkling day of family entertainment is headed by the amazing H & M Dog Display Team and the fabulous Band One steel band. Throughout the afternoon there will be karate displays, an exhibition of classic cars, bikes and tractors, a family pet show and fairground rides.

And Culcheth Library will be open until 3pm for a programme of children’s activities.

CROFT MODEL SHOW, MAY 11 >

Warrington Guardian:

A model day out is promised in Locking Stumps this weekend.

This is the 15th edition of the show to raise money for BHF.

It will be open from 10am until 4pm at Thomas Risley Church on Saturday.

On display will be aircraft, tanks, figures, toy soldiers, Lego, die-cast, ships, Sci-Fi, dioramas, war-games and railways.

Admission is for adults £2.50, seniors £2, kids £1.50 and under threes go free.

GRAPPENHALL BEER FESTIVAL MAY 10 and 11>

Warrington Guardian: Trowbridge pubs to launch beer festival

Cheers to the event at Grappenhall Community Centre, on Bellhouse Lane in the village on May 10 and 11

CHALLENGE CUP AND MAGIC WEEKEND >

It is a huge month for rugby league and Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors

First up, a Challenge Cup tie at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on May 12.

Then a Magic Weekend clash at Anfield on May 25.

LYMM MAY QUEEN, MAY 18 >

Warrington Guardian: Lymm May Queen

One of the biggest events in the calendar in Lymm returns this month.

The procession starts at 1pm followed by lots of fun and stalls on the festival field later in the afternoon

NEIGHBOURHOOD WEEKENDER MAY 25 AND 26 >

Warrington Guardian: Thousands gathered for the second day of the Neighbourhood Weekender festival

The music festival at Victoria Park returns for a second time.

The line-up includes George Ezra and Richard Ashcroft plus many more over three stages on two days.

GANGSTA GRANNY MAY 29 >

Warrington Guardian: David Walliams' Gangsta Granny Live on Stage

Head to Walton Hall for some open air theatre fun as David Walliams' popular story Gangsta Granny heads to town.

Heartbreak productions gives people the chance to watch the best seller adapted for the outdoor stage. 

Tickets start from £10.

People should bring picnics and appropriate outdoor gear. 

Deckchairs are available to hire at a small additional cost and hot food will be available on the night and the bar will be open for Mums and Dads.
