WARRINGTON'S new Time Square development has secured a major coup with unique venue The Botanist confirmed as the first restaurant to sign up.

It will open later this year and offer deli-inspired lunches, signature mains, Sunday roasts and botanical cocktails and more than 60 ales.

It is the first confirmed restaurant for the emerging site off Bridge Street which will also offer a multi-screen Cineworld, new market hall, council offices and leisure offerings.

Chris Hill, CEO at The New World Trading Company, commented: “Our successful roll-out of The Botanist has always factored in the potential of key regional towns across the UK and Time Square in Warrington was an opportunity not to be missed.

"The vision for the development aligns with our brand, and it will be an ideal location for increasing our footprint in the north west region.”

The Botanist, which has venues in Deansgate in Manchester, Chester and Knutsford among others, delivers a wide selection of experimental botanical cocktails and masterclasses inspired from resident botanists’ travels across the globe, to a carefully curated Ale Inventory with over 60 world-class ales.

Leader of Warrington Borough Council, Cllr Russ Bowden, said: “Anyone who has been to The Botanist before knows this is big news for Warrington. To attract a venue of such high quality and prestige is a real boost for the Time Square development and reinforces our vision for Warrington to be a top leisure and retail destination.

“This is the latest piece in the Time Square jigsaw, which will transform the face of Warrington town centre, bring a huge boost to our economy and attract visitors from across the borough and wider region.

The launch of The Botanist will create new job roles in Warrington from management to front of house and kitchen staff. Further information on recruitment will be announced this summer.
