ON April 28 I was informed by the CSA that owing to a mistake on their part I would now have to pay £521 in arrears, at the rate of £10 per week, on top of the existing amount that I pay in regular maintenance.

In August the CSA lowered the amount of maintenance that I paid, claiming that I was paying too much.

This was their decision, not mine. Following a review they now say that this was a mistake and the £521 should be paid to them.

I told them that I was paying for their mistake and that this was grossly unfair. They agreed but said I still have to pay.

I do not mind paying maintenance and have assisted the CSA in the past to ensure that everything runs smoothly. But this takes the biscuit.

I wonder if other readers have encountered this incompetence?
