I WISH to respond to the letter from the Rev Steve Parish, chairman of Orford Labour Party, in last week’s Guardian ‘Tour of shame’.
He implies that I do not care about the future of William Beamont High School.
That allegation is neither fair nor accurate.
Readers of the Guardian may wish to know that I shall be meeting Lord Hill, the minister responsible for school building, on November 25.
Both Helen Jones MP and Clr Ian Marks will be accompanying me to that meeting, alongside head teachers from the affected schools: including William Beamont.
I can assure Rev Parish that we will be making the case for all of Warrington’s schools.
DAVID MOWAT MP Member of Parliament for Warrington South
