EVERY year that the Creamfields festival has taken place residents somewhere in Appleton have been afflicted by noise.
The exact location with the worst noise has depended on wind direction. Now the organisers want a licence for three years. We oppose this. A year at a time helps us monitor the situation and allows the police, Halton and Warrington Borough Councils to respond to legitimate complaints. A three-year licence would mean people have less opportunity to influence events the following year.
What is needed is not a one or three-year licence for Creamfields but a completely new location, where no residents would be inconvenienced.
