I RECENTLY had problems with British Gas/United Utilities wanting to change my electricity meter.
The engineer would not do it as he had never seen one like it before. The outcome was that I would probably need to change to a more expensive tariff and get charged to have the meter changed.
After much ‘to-ing and fro-ing’ nothing was done, so I requested our MP Helen Southworth, try to sort it out.
Within seven days she had sorted the problem – we can keep the old meter for now. I also had some compensatory payment for my hassle.
I know she has had some ‘stick’ in your paper, but I must give her credit for sorting my problem so quickly. I had several telephone calls from her office re this matter. I must say a ‘thank you’ to Mrs Southworth for her help.
