I read in the Guardian an article about parking wardens in Warrington and did expect the letters page to have some excitement over tickets issued. However, nothing! Since they were put under council control I can now just nip into town and find a 20 or 30-minute spot quite easily, whereas before I had to go to a car park and pay for my paltry 10-minute visit.

They are doing a good job. If people parked legally then the wardens would leave them alone.

Maybe a bit of discretion could be allowed for small indiscretions such as blue badges upside down. Perhaps a warning rather than a fine for this type of thing might be more acceptable to the majority. On the whole, though, they are doing a good job.
