WHAT a farce Neighbourhood Weekend was.

The stewards at the end of each street – where were they?

There was one at the actual entrance to the park so we were inundated with taxis and drop offs with no stewards at the end of the street.

When he told them they couldn’t go through but to go along Grange Avenue they just went to the other corner of Stringer Crescent and went in that way.

More vehicles were trying to get down the crescent to drop more off.

You stated that ‘We are not allowing pass outs from the site once festivalgoers are in. So people will only be on the surrounding streets while leaving but we have plenty of security to ensure no trouble is caused’.

Yet there was foot traffic all afternoon off and on to the park via Stringer Crescent.

Unfortunately these people were getting more drunk as the day went on.

As the light was fading, from 9.30pm onwards, more people were exiting via the back entrance, some were so drunk that they were just sitting down on the pavement or staggering from fence to car to gate to car.

After calling the hotline again we were told organisers were going to try to get someone to deal with it.

But I had a call back to advise that the security were dealing with the thousands that were leaving ‘lawfully’ by the front entrance.

Many thanks for a wonderful day/ night.
