I HAD to pay a visit to hotel NHS between Christmas and new year.

Imagine my delight when I was guided to the A&E suite – spent eight hrs being prodded and poked by all number of people – was given a full corridor tour and eventually ended my journey early in the morning at my destination, A ward.

I must say the motivation, professionalism and dedication from porters to consultants was second to none.

I cannot imagine how you deliver that level of care.

But they do, and they have to do it in a building that is no longer fit for purpose.

This brings me to the main gist of my thoughts. All I can hear from our illustrious town council is lets build thousands more houses.

Warrington simply does not have the infrastructure to support any more.

As a town we have grown exponentially over the past decade.

Without more support services and infrastructure we simply cannot grow any larger.

Why not build a state of the art hospital on part of the land instead of all houses in south Warrington and build affordable housing on the existing hospital site?

Warrington Borough Council can invest in business parks, banks and put money offshore.

Why not build and lease back the hospital to the NHS? This may be far too simple and even smacks of common sense.
