IN answer to Alf Clemo’s letter (Warrington Guardian, February 15) ‘Is anyone still alive and kicking?’.
I am. I first met Alf in the late 40s when he joined the Whitecross works football team.
Alf was a very good player, the Alan Hanson of his day.
I remember the many tussles we had with Davvy Dykes and Swanny Players from Evelyn Street Old Boys team.
As far as I know Alf, you and me are the only two left from that Whitecross team still alive and kicking, but not footballs.
