WARRINGTON Round Table would like to thank all those that contributed to our Santa sleigh collections in south Warrington in the run up to Christmas.

The warm-hearted and generous response of the people living in this part of the town has, yet again, made this charity fundraising event a pleasure and great fun.

Santa and his helpers were able to get out for eight nights over the three weeks leading up to Christmas.

This included covering Grappenhall in the first week, Stockton Heath in the second week and a mixture of Walton and Appleton in the last week.

The current Round Table chairman, Iain Richardson, said: “Santa sleigh is a long standing tradition and it is great to continue it this year.

“The response we get from local residents is always amazing and they are very generous.

“We have a couple of fundraising events throughout the year but this is definitely our biggest.

“It takes a lot of planning to organise and make sure we are ready each year.

“But seeing the excitement on the faces of children when they hear the Christmas music and see Santa coming to their door brings a little bit of cheer to us all.”

This year Warrington Round Table was able to raise more than £2,600.

This is a brilliant amount and will go towards supporting good causes in and around Warrington.

Santa and his helpers will, of course, be back in December 2018 to spread festive cheer and goodwill in south Warrington.

In the meantime, if you would like to know any more about Warrington Round Table, have a good cause we could support, or want to get involved in the activities and events that we run then please see our website or Facebook page.
