DURING recent weeks I have been working from home whilst recovering from a surgical procedure.
I have been working from my study with the doors open to my garden and have been astonished at the levels of noise pollution due to aircraft flying over Warrington.
During the day there appears to be an aircraft every three or four minutes.
The aircraft are travelling in various directions but the most annoying are the low level aircraft which are descending into Liverpool John Lennon Airport, particularly the EasyJet flights of which there are many.
I have lived at the same house in Orford for more than 20 years and spend a lot of time in my garden, and in my opinion this was never a major issue in the past.
I have raised this with Liverpool John Lennon Airport, EasyJet and the Civil Aviation Authority as it is outside the remit of the local environmental office to deal with complaints about aircraft noise.
My concern is that unless something is done, that with the rapidly increasing numbers of flights and the continuing expansion of local airports; that this will become an even greater problem for the people of Warrington and adjacent areas.
