SHAME on Warrington Borough Council.
Shame on David Mowat for keeping the plan for the new Warrington Western Link road behind closed doors for four years.
This news has had a massive impact on our community and caused devastation to residents (Warrington Guardian, July 13).
The information booklet about this roads says: ‘Keeping you updated’.
What a lie.
The council has forgotten us, once again.
This will be no ordinary road but a massive high-level bypass.
A total eyesore over a residential area.
To make matters worse, it will lead to more roads on raised sites.
What a blot on the landscape.
Warrington Borough Council has sold us down the river to Peel Holdings which needs this road for its heavy transporters to connect the M56 to the M62.
It is all to do with Port Warrington.
This will not ease our own traffic congestion in the town.
When the bypass reaches Cromwell Avenue, it will pass over the new proposed roundabout between David Lloyd and the Peace Centre.
Where to next?
Warrington people, say no to this road, because once it reaches Sankey Way it is halfway to the M62.
