In my letter last week regarding the duel carriageway at Penketh, I have another bone of contention and that’s Hood Lane South, Great Sankey, where the residents have no choice but to park their vehicles on the road which does cause some obstruction, but because drivers using the road are courteous it’s not a problem.

What I find annoying is the short section of road at the junction of Liverpool Road where there are no houses only double yellow lines on both sides of the road stretching around the Chinese take away and of all things stretching along the brick wall of Jewson’s Building Merchants, what kind of person would think that was necessary?

The good thing is, the police have ignored people parking there to collect their takeaway meals, which in most cases only takes a few minutes, which is commendable.

Because of their decision, the yellow lines should be removed, because otherwise, a police officer who has transferred to this station who lacks local knowledge could cause innocent people to get booked which has happened in the past.
