AS predicted Mr Brinksman responded to my letter in the Warrington Guardian (January 5) where I posed the question: ‘What is to love about Jeremy Corbyn for Warringtonians?’ It followed Corbyn’s recent decision to appoint Jayne Fisher to his own team as ‘head of stakeholder engagement.

My letter solely addressed the issue of Labour supporters in the town finding themselves in the invidious position of now having as the leader of Labour a man of whom there is well documented evidence, including his latest employee, of him supporting Sinn Fein.

Mr Brinksman replied inferring we should still love Jeremy because the Queen has ‘met and shook hands’ with Martin McGuinness, Sinn Fein leader and former IRA chief as it is in the interests of the peace process.

The irony Mr Brinksman is blind to see, Corbyn is the man who refuses to sing God Save the Queen or recognise her as such.

Mr Brinksman uses her as the reason we should still be supporting Corbyn.

Most Warringtonions like most people, look and hope for peace. But many do not look favourably on the leader of the Labour party, still showing his obvious affection for that group, which he first displayed.

Would this be the same Corbyn, who Josh Booth quoted in the Guardian as saying, ‘we’re going to fight for justice without any tricks, just total honesty’.

The bulk of Mr Brinksman’s response was his usual diatribe against his hated Tories and Margaret Thatcher, which he puts out most weeks and of which most are now anaesthetised to.

As Plato also said: “Wise men speak because they have something to say, fools because they have to say something.”
