AS a last resort I am writing to you about the one and only bus we can get into town.

They first stopped the 17 then the 29.

Now we only have the 13 left. But the two bus stops on Whittle Avenue, one at each end of the estate, have finished.

A new one has been put up further down Whittle Avenue. We now have to walk past the first two on the grass next to the new bus stop to wait in water and mud until the bus comes.

This bus took us to Westbrook so we could go to our dentist, doctors, Asda, opticians and also the cinema where they have cheap viewings for pensioners.

This bus has now stopped.

We have to go the opposite way again from our muddy bus stop to the Peace Centre, cross the busy main road to get the 18 to get our shopping, same back to the Peace Centre, then get the 13 back to the same muddy bus stop and walk all the way back home with our shopping.

Now I have filled in a form at the bus station, I called in to the council offices, I’ve rung two MPs and also the mayor with no satisfaction.
