IF your readers want just one reason why Britain should remain in the EU it is this. Donald Trump wants us to leave.
The US Republican candidate, who wants to ban Muslims from entering the USA, build walls on his country’s borders and takes particular delight in insulting the appearance of women, thinks Britain would be better off without the EU. Enough said.
Trump joins others who would welcome a weaker European Union, like President Putin of Russia who cares nothing for justice or international law and Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Front in France, whose party is regarded as too extreme even by Nigel Farage.
You are known by the company you keep.
If people like this are the partners that ‘Leave’ campaigners want us to have, then heaven help Britain if they win.
