REGARDING the strike by junior doctors in the NHS.

I have read several letters blaming the said strike on the junior doctors.

I think that is most unfair as successive Conservative and Labour governments have exploited the nurses, doctors and other NHS employees on the grounds that they just knew they would not put patients’ lives at risk by going on strike.

However this time the Government has completely misread the situation as the junior doctors have been forced to take strike action by the sheer arrogance, apathy and worst of all lack of respect for human life shown by the actions of health secretary Jeremy Hunt and more importantly the man who appointed him David Cameron.

It is a well-known fact that the Tories have always endeavoured to privatise the NHS and this was an ideal opportunity to do just that by laying the blame for the strike squarely at the doctors’ feet.

David Cameron knew months ago that it could come to this but he did nothing to stop it.

Cameron is more concerned about ‘scaring’ the public into voting to staying the European Union than he is about saving patients’ lives.

As Prime Minister he should have got the two sides together, put them in a locked room and insisted that they found a compromise, as any caring decent and humanitarian PM would have done.

Indeed as PM was it not his duty to intervene in a situation where lives were being put at risk?

Yet once again a Tory Prime Minister has proved he just does not give a damn about the NHS and he should be thoroughly ashamed of himself.

As leader of the UK isn’t it his ultimate responsibly to take action to prevent a potentially devastating situation from escalating to such damaging proportions?

Cameron is to blame, but I don’t think that he will lose any sleep over it do you?
