DO we really need another layer of bureaucracy with an elected mayor for Cheshire (Warrington Guardian, April 28)?
Warrington already has a ceremonial mayor (currently Cllr Geoff Settle) and a leader of the council (currently Cllr Terry O’Neill) without needing a third one on top.
Cornwall has managed to obtain devolved powers without an elected mayor.
Why can’t Cheshire?
