ON Christmas Eve I returned home from a trip and found myself stranded at Warrington Bank Quay station with another young girl at 10.20pm.

The station staff informed us there would be no more trains and did little to help us despite the fact it was the train company’s fault that quite a number of people had caught the wrong train because of bad announcements.

We were asked to leave the station so they could lock up and were left on the pavement outside with the instruction to wait there for an hour where CCTV could see me instead of helping to find a way home or waiting until someone could collect me.

It meant leaving a young girl crying as she had no way to get home or into town to make sure she was safe.

I was relieved to find a wonderful taxi driver to help me and the young girl.

Jays executive drivers (that’s the firm) noticed both I and the young girl were being left and that we were worried.

He stayed to make sure we could get home and then drove me all the way home, dropping the young girl in town for free to make sure she was safe.

He plugged my phone in so I could contact my family, let me photograph his licence and vehicle information so my family were reassured and even offered to stop to get food and let me use the bathroom.

He was nothing but a real gentleman who made a bad situation so much better.

Sometimes there are just good people in the world that make your day brighter.
