WOOLSTON Park is not the only area in Warrington which is suffering from neglected footpaths.
The Birchwood Brook footpath has been neglected for years today, in parts, it is virtually unusable.
Yet this path signed from Dewhurst Road as providing both foot and cycle access to Risley Moss, is also the major link path from Gorse Covert to Birchwood Station.
The trees have grown so large that they form a canopy over the path; it is like walking into a daunting green tunnel.
The surface is mud with little or no gravel covering and in places this surface is less than half a metre wide.
The council appears to have completely ignored this path which residents use for access and recreational purposes.
Yes the residents like to live in an area that looks pretty, but as the bill payers they want their money spent wisely – to provide facilities that they can use such as paths and grass areas cut to provide places for their children to play.
Not spent on vanity projects such as planters and skittles.
