THOUGH a committed reader of the Warrington Guardian I’m becoming increasingly disenchanted with the amount of recent articles which include artists’ impressions of how something might/could look in the future.
I’m yet to see the suited businessmen/women, clutching their skinny lattes, strolling along the tree-lined boulevards of the Omega site office quarter – a vision we were regularly fed over the years.
A recent Warrington Guardian treated us to five more visions: the proposed new Prezzo in Golden Square; Woolston’s new King’s Leadership Academy; the town’s new University Technical College; the new Great Sankey Leisure Centre and the new Warrington Market development (a serial offender in the artist impression stakes of late).
The publication of official plans is one thing, the use of artists impressions is another – usually spurious and entirely misrepresentative.
Please limit articles to the facts and desist from publishing these accompanying cartoons
